Viraaj's 1st International Trip - Dubai Diaries

I got my kiddo's passport done when he was one. I have attached the basic List of documents required for a baby’s passport below for your reference below. We went to Dubai during March & it was a good season to go to.

The summers in Dubai start around May & it is unbearably hot till October. Dec-Jan are the best months to visit as you also get to experience the famous DSF (Dubai Shopping Festival) then.
Dubai turned out to be a perfect example of a Cosmos city where you get a chance to see people from around the globe. I was really worried how I would manage with Viraaj as he was still on semi solid food & on the peak stage of the phase when kids throw tantrums while eating (though that phase is still not over even after 2 yrs!). So we chose a place where we had friends and trust me they made our Dubai trip a wonderful vacation.

So my first tip to the parents with young toddlers would be to choose your destination wisely. Choose a place where travel time is not more than 4-5 hours. Also it is always comforting to visit a place where you have some help (just in case) & also where you have both, attractions for the kids as well as yourself. Dubai was a perfect fit for us!

My day wise itinerary is detailed below:
                 Day 1:
ü  The dolphin show
ü  The Dubai Mall
ü  Burj Khalifa- At the top

                  Day 2:
ü  Ride to the Palm, The Jumeirah Beach Road
ü  Pub Night

Day 3:
ü  Royal lunch at Jumeirah beach resort
ü  Exploring the Madinath Jumeirah
ü  Ibn Batuta Mall

Day 4:
ü  The Jumeirah Beach
ü   Local Spice & Gold Souk
ü   Flight to Mumbai

Dolphin show was the highlight of the day and my baby loved the seals & dolphins dancing and throwing balls in water. There is a small canteen there where you get fast food like fries, sandwiches & ice cream to gobble on.

Useful Tips: Always carry some ready to eat food for your baby in case travel to these places takes long. I carried Bananas, Biscuits, Pre cooked Rice & a bottle of Milk.

List of Documents to get your Baby's passport (in India):
  • Passports of both the parents (if your spouse's name is not added in your passport then both the parents need to be present at the passport office).
  • Marriage Certificate of Parents.
  • Passport Photo of both the Parents.
