Dubai Diaries: At the Top of Burj Khalifa & The Dancing Fountains

The beautiful view of Dubai City from Burj Khalifa Top

Burj Khalifa- the tallest building of the world is in the campus of Dubai Mall.  Burj Khalifa has more than 160 floors in total which accommodate various corporate offices, luxury hotels & some private residential apartments. You can just walk down from the food court to the entrance of Burj Khalifa. Our friends had pre-booked the tickets for the top (the observatory on the 124th Floor) and we were able to witness both the mesmeric sunset and the glittery night view of the city.

Darling enjoying himself at the Observation Deck of Burj Khalifa.

Tips for Burj:
1)      Choose the 5 p.m. slot, however reach the place around 4:30 p.m. as there is a long queue & it takes around 45 mins to board the super fast elevator to the top.
2)      Carry a light jacket as it gets cold up there.
3)      There is one cafe which is a bit heavy on the pockets, so do carry some snacks for your kids in case you want to stay there for 2-3 hours.
4)      Also the going time is fixed, but there is no limit on the amount of time you want to spend there, so plan accordingly!

The Night View

After the sun has set, starts the majestic Dancing Fountain show at Dubai mall where tall water fountains dance on Arabic music for good 5-7 mins every half an hour. We witnessed the fountains both from the top of Burj & from the promenade at the bottom (I could manage only some photos by my phone here as Viraaj was too cranky by this time). If you are at Dubai Mall, do spare some time for this fountain show.
